KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Scientists found that the process of cooling the planet’s core faster than previously thought.
The core of the planet Earth has indeed cooled for billions of years but now the cooling process is recorded to be faster which consequently hastens the end of life on Earth.
The researchers found that Earth’s interior has gradually cooled during its 4.5 billion years of existence.
These cooling conditions are seen as a common pattern that could have helped the planet evolve into the green paradise it is today, where humans have thrived over the last 200,000 years.

“This perspective raises the question of how quickly the Earth lost heat throughout Earth’s history, which is directly related to the fundamental question of how long the Earth will remain dynamically active,” the scientists wrote in a paper published in the journal Earth. NBCNews.
So far, researchers are still conducting research on how fast the Earth’s core cooling process takes place. A group of scientists are studying bridgmanite, a common conductive mineral found between the Earth’s core and mantle.
They found that it was 1.5 times more conductive than previously believed, meaning Earth’s cooling process may also be faster than previously thought.
