Earthquake Strikes Montlucon and Surrounding Towns: 3.1 Magnitude Quake Reported

Sunday July 16, 2023, around 10:45 p.m., a earthquake was felt for a few minutes on Montlucon and in some surrounding towns. (Saint-Martinien, Prémilhat, Vaux, etc.). The quake was rated at 3.1 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was detected at Saint Martinian.

The jerk was felt during several minutes. On social networks, many residents say they have felt the earthquake, describing the scene as “Impressive shaking” or “like an explosion”. As of this writing, no damage has been reported.
