Earthquake shakes Sukabumi M 6.1, felt as far as Jakarta

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The earthquake once again shook the territory of Indonesia.

In the BMKG report, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck around 7:50 AM WIB, in Sukabumi, West Java on Thursday (8/12/2022).

“Earthquake May: 6.1, 08-Dec-2022 07:50:57WIB,” BMKG wrote on the official Twitter @infoBMKG.

“Lok: 7.11LS, 106.99E (22 km southeast of KOTA-SUKABUMI-JABAR), Depth: 104 Km,” he added.

The earthquake is also known to have been felt in and around DKI Jakarta. Several residents said they felt the earthquake.

“While I was working, the computer was suddenly shaking, I thought it was a headache from the night shift, it turned out to be a real earthquake,” one netizen said on Twitter.

“I’m in Jakarta feeling sick,” said another resident CNBC Indonesia.
