Tremors were recorded near the city of Arad in western Romania. The epicenter of the earthquake, scientists recorded 24 kilometers east of the nearest city at a depth of 6.4 kilometers. The tremors were also felt by residents of other large Romanian cities – Timisoara, Bekesceba and Reshita.
According to the Institute of Physics of the Earth, the earthquake was accompanied by an aftershock with a magnitude of 3.1 points. Aftershocks are called aftershocks that occur after the main shock and are smaller in comparison with it. Strong earthquakes are always accompanied by numerous aftershocks.
In terms of damage, minor damage was reported to the facades of buildings in the city of Arad, which in turn resulted in damage to several parked vehicles.
