Guatemala City: An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred in the Central American country of Guatemala, according to the US Geological Survey. No damage has been reported yet.
The earthquake’s epicenter was 99.6 km below the earth’s surface in Mazagua, near the southern coast of Guatemala. The earthquake was also felt in neighboring El Salvador, but the authorities have not issued any tsunami warnings.
Previously, an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded in the region of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
