The epicenter of the earthquake was in the city of Kigu, according to the data of the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD).

Seismologist Prof. Dr. Şükrü Ersoy stated that today’s earthquake in Bingyol is not dangerous and is not related to the devastating earthquakes on February 6.

There are many fault lines in the region and this earthquake was caused by them. It is not a dangerous earthquake. It’s just a palpable earthquake, Ersoy pointed out.
