An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was reported at 1:14 in the afternoon this Sunday, without the Guatemalan authorities reporting emergencies, much less issuing a Tsunami alert.
The epicenter was located off the coast of the department of Escuintla, Guatemala and 113 kilometers southwest of the capital of that country, with a focal depth of 61 kilometers.
The earth movement was felt throughout the Guatemalan coast and in the departments of Ahuachapán, Sonsonate, Santa Ana and slightly in La Libertad.
