The Alza.cz online store will enable the Rohlík.cz online supermarket to deliver food through selected AlzaBox dispensers. Alza has adjusted about 50 of these boxes to keep food fresh.
For Rohlík, the cooperation is another step in expanding the places to pick up purchases outside of its Rohlik Points. Alza, in turn, maximizes the use of the capacity of already built dispensers. After last year’s connection with Zásilkovna, Rohlík is another partner who is starting to deliver to AlzaBoxes.
“We are constantly expanding our network of AlzaBoxes and gradually opening it to other players in the market. The connection with Rohlík makes great sense to us, the assortment of both e-shops complements each other and the customer can easily pick everything up in one place, “said Alza’s director of expansion, Jan Moudřík. According to him, it does not make sense for everyone to build their dispensing boxes, which is why Alza offers free capacity to partners.
Coolboxes are placed in the boxes intended for the delivery of orders from Rohlik.cz, which can keep food sufficiently cooled for up to four hours. In this way, shoppers can also have orders containing goods requiring a continuous cold chain, including frozen food, delivered to them. The purchase must be picked up from AlzaBox within three hours of delivery, in case of non-pickup, the goods are returned to the warehouse.
Two dozen AlzaBoxes will open for an online supermarket in Prague, for example in OC Stromovka, OC Palladium, in the Myšák Gallery or at the Cinestar cinema in Smíchov. Customers will then find three of them in Brno. Companies have not forgotten about food lovers outside the two largest cities, so it will be possible to pick up purchases from Rohlík in AlzaBoxes from Pilsen to Ostrava.
Alza had 700 AlzaBoxes at the end of last year and their network is still expanding. He wants 3,000 of them by the end of next year. Z-BOX’s own dispensing boxes are also operated by Zásilkovna, which has over 500, or the logistics company WeDo with more than a hundred self-service dispensers.
