Apple decided to celebrate Earth Day by donating a dollar for every purchase paid with Apple Pay. This concerns purchases in physical Apple Stores, from the Apple Store application or on the Apple site. It’s in place until April 22.
Up to $ 1 million for Conservation International from Apple
The total amount (which will be $ 1 million at most) will go to Conservation International. It is a non-profit organization that seeks to protect biodiversity hotspots, wild spaces with high biodiversity as well as important maritime regions. The group is also known for its partnership with NGOs and indigenous peoples.
Apple says a bit more about Conservation International’s work:
Conservation International strives to highlight and secure the essential benefits that nature provides to humanity. By combining fieldwork with innovations in science, policy and finance, Conservation International has helped protect more than 6 million square kilometers of land and sea in more than 70 countries.
This initiative to donate a dollar for each purchase paid with Apple Pay in Apple Stores seems to be only for the United States. Apple has emailed users who have Apple Pay to let them know the news.
