Earn $100 for Reviewing NYC Public Transportation Service – NBC New York (47)

The MTA is offering riders the chance to win a $100 prepaid cash gift card for participating in their latest ridership survey.

The MTA announced it launched its survey on Tuesday Customers Count Travel Spring 2022, seeking feedback from New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, MetroNorth Railroad, and Access-A-Ride Paratransit bus and subway riders.

The agency needs the feedback gathered from the survey to analyze existing trends in ridership and identify the parts of the system most in need of improvement.

“We know customers are looking for safer, more reliable travel, and this survey helps us prioritize which trains and stations are top of the list for items like new LED lighting and more frequent cleanings,” said Sarah Meyer, director of customer service for the MTA. “Tell us what you want, New York, and we’ll do our best to make your travels more comfortable.”

Riders who complete the survey, which is available online through Friday, June 24, will have a chance to win a $100 prepaid cash gift card.

The latest MTA survey, conducted in the fall of 2021, received more than 120,000 responses, with riders expressing concerns about cleanliness and public safety, prompting the agency to improve cleaning protocols and advocate for more police officers throughout the system.

“Both current and long-time customers tell us they want to see a system that is safe, clean, reliable and more profitable. The good news here is that the MTA is moving forward with initiatives to address these concerns and we are confident that we can win passengers back to a new and better transit system,” said Meyer.

Ridership on MTA buses and subways remains well below pre-pandemic levels, hovering around 60% of what it was before the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to agency data .
