SOLO, KOMPAS.TV– The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of extreme weather that occurred today, Monday (24/5/2021).
BMKG predicts heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds and lightning / lightning in a number of areas.
According to the information on the page web.meteo.bmkg.go.id, Sunday (23/5/2021), it was conveyed that there was a cyclonic circulation observed in the northern Pacific Ocean of West Papua which formed a confluence area extending from the waters north of North Maluku to northern West Papua.

The meeting area and the deceleration of wind speed (convergence) are observed extending in central Sumatra, from East Kalimantan to North Kalimantan, from Southeast Sulawesi to Central Sulawesi, from Maluku to North Maluku, in central Papua and extending from southern West Papua to Papua North West.
“This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation and along the convergence and confluence areas,” wrote the page.
