The long Covid is a big problem for many.

Depending on the type of virus, about 5-10% of all corona-infected people suffer from symptoms that last longer than three months. This can be muscle pain, chronic fatigue, or neurological problems.
Now the researchers have clues foundthat a blood test may be able to predict who will be affected. They identified 20 blood proteins that had been altered at the onset of acute coronavirus infection in people with subsequently Long Covid.

In a test with only 54 infected people, all 11 people were identified who still suffered from long-term Covid symptoms a year later.
If this early diagnosis really works, it’s time to check with a larger group of test people. If so, this could help treat endangered patients at an early stage. It is useful that the method used to analyze proteins in blood is already used in hospitals and laboratories.
