Measure 2.2 of the Gabon-Equality program of the government with the support of the first Sylvia Bongo Ondimba, is materializing over the days in schools in the national territory. A review meeting was held last weekend between Bertille Nadia Matsougou Mayombo, head of the support project for young pregnant girls and mothers in school, and the various support workers and managers in schools. “The meetings that take place periodically between the person in charge of monitoring measure 2.2, early pregnancies of the Gabon-Egalite program are part of the monitoring of the implementation of support for young pregnant girls and young mothers” , she said. “Today’s meeting which brings together the guides and managers aims to centralize the data collected from the various guides, but if there are cases, this means that we must analyze the content”, recalls Bertille Nadia Matsougou Mayombo.
According to her, one of the main objectives of this program is to keep the young pregnant girl and mother in the school curriculum. As such, the Gabon-Equality program in its measure 2.2 education: early pregnancies takes several forms. In particular, psychological, psychopedagogical, medical, social, community and legal. For this reason, despite the difficulties encountered by some guides in the field in the context of collecting data that can constitute a reliable file.
The Minister of National Education, Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq, who has a very sharp look at the issue, instructed those responsible and accompanying persons in schools to be more enthusiastic. Because, it is no longer a question of losing a young girl or mother from the school curriculum for reasons that can find solutions in the support offered by the government. Also, parents and young pregnant girls and school mothers are also invited to cooperate to facilitate their support and their maintenance in the school curriculum, by approaching the administration of their establishment to have more information on this monitoring program.
