On the occasion, the Head of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, dr. Agus Rizal Ardy Hariandy Hamid, Sp. U(K) Ph.D. also describes the various factors that cause prostate cancer in men. One of them is an unhealthy lifestyle.
“Smoking habits, poor diet patterns, and a person’s lack of exercise can increase the risk of prostate cancer in men,” said Agus.
Not only that, other driving factors such as age, race, family history, gene changes, diabetes, cholesterol, and obesity are also considered to increase the risk of prostate cancer.
Agus explained, patients often feel symptoms when the cancer has spread to other organs such as the bladder, bones, or other organs. Thus, it can cause pain and fractures.
“Symptoms that are complained of include urinary disturbances, blood in the urine, erectile dysfunction, pain in the waist, back and ribs, weakness in the legs or feet and inability to control the bladder,” he said.
