Early Christians: Under the “microscope” of the Prosecutor’s Office, the living conditions of children – 2024-02-20 03:06:38

In the “microscope” of the prosecution authorities are the conditions under which the children of the family of “old Christians”, as they call themselves, live, which was found living in a burrow in the village of Manna in Corinthia.

They are the three minor children of the family, two boys aged 13 and 15 and a little girl of six. The 45-year-old and the 38-year-old have another 22-year-old girl, who is reportedly the mother of an infant.

Immediately after the prosecutor’s order, the children were removed from the area and transferred to the 45-year-old’s 25-year-old daughter, who is a child from his first marriage. But after the couple was released, the children returned to the early Christian community and live again with their parents in the caves.

Now the competent services will see the living conditions of the children and decide whether to remove them. From the first evidence, the children live under poor sanitary conditions and do not go to school.

The case came to light a few days ago, when a hunter filed a lawsuit against the father of the family for assault. There had been a wild fight where a gun was used without anyone being injured.

What does the father stand for?

Speaking to a television station, Mr. Kalaitzidakis, father of the family, noted: “Those who are confused become Pharisees. I had six children in Athens where I lived and I had to feed eight mouths with a thousand euros, it wasn’t enough for me. I now live here and it’s not only the financial part, it’s also the practical part.”

When asked why his children do not go to school, he replied: “Education is supposed to be free. It’s actually not free. Even lame Maria knows that it’s not free.”

“I am not obliged to send the children to school”

About his life in the last years in Corinthia in the estate he has bought, he said: “The other ends up being a beggar, they said we have low fertility and I believed them. Now that I have come here, I produce my own products, I have my own milk and I am not a beggar, I can feed my children, I have lived here for four years.”

Regarding it being illegal to keep children out of school, he said “it’s legal, it’s not moral. Every Greek has the right to own his own house. We must not see selectively. Is it considered normal when I was in Athens to be given 200 euros for housing? Man’s dignity is to maintain his beliefs.”
“I am not obliged to send my children to school. The Panhellenic has to deal with more important problems”, he added.
