Early Cancer Detection with This Simple Blood Test, Still Researched and Trial

TRIBUNJABAR.ID, BANDUNG – Cancer is still a deadly disease that is feared by many people, therefore early detection is important to facilitate treatment.

If early detection has been carried out, the treatment process will also be faster.

It is different if the cancer is not detected and has entered an advanced stage, treatment is also more difficult and hope of recovery is not as good as if it is treated early.

Quoted from Kontan.id, the British National Health Service Agency (NHS) will take the lead simple blood test which can detect more than 50 types of cancer and is expected to help thousands of people detected with the disease be treated more successfully at an earlier stage.

The Galleri blood test, developed by the Californian health care company Grail, will be piloted with 165,000 patients.

Grail, which focuses on early detection of cancer, is backed by a number of investors including tech billionaire Bill Gates and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The UK NHS hopes this blood test will be very useful in identifying types of cancer that are currently difficult to diagnose and treat early.

“Early detection, especially for conditions that are difficult to treat such as ovarian and pancreatic cancer, has the potential to save many lives,” said NHS chief executive Simon Stevens, quoted by CNN.

More than 1,000 people are newly diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK.
