“Last year, there were only 10 cases of DHF in Mamuju. This year, cases of DHF have increased significantly. Just in January, DHF cases had reached 26,” said Alamsyah, Friday 3 March 2023.
Dengue cases from January to March 2023, now there have been 48 cases. Where in January DHF cases reached 26 cases, February 8 cases, and early March had increased 4 cases.
“The increase in DHF cases was triggered by unsanitary environmental conditions. The existing sewers were damaged after the earthquake that hit Mamuju in 2021, so the sewage did not flow. As a result, there were lots of mosquito larvae in the drains,” explained Alamsyah.
To suppress DHF cases, the Mamuju District Health Office is currently intensively conducting fogging in the community and government offices.
