We take the same ones and start again, or almost. Apart from a few players absent due to injury such as goalkeeper Bosso Mounkoro or Yves Bissouma, national coach Eric Sékou Chelle relied on a framework he already knows for the list of 26 players who will take part in the double confrontation against the Gambia. A list made up of three goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders and 7 forwards. Captain Hamari Traoré, just recovered from injury, will hold his place in the team. A rear guard which will be made up of regulars including Boubacar Kiki Kouyaté, Falaye Sacko or Massadio Haidara. However, a newcomer will come alongside the aforementioned experienced ones. Issar Dramé, defender playing in Bastia in France will honor his first selection. Ismael Coulibaly who plays for Shieffield United in England will also take his first steps in the Eagles’ nest. In a very dense midfield, the new international will have to take his troubles patiently with the presence of Mohamed Camara, Diadié Samassekou, Amadou Haidara and Cheick Doucouré in particular. The surprise in attack is the presence of Fousseini Diabaté. The wisp passed by Leicester has long been courted by Mali. Sékou Koita, Nene Dorgeles, Adama Traoré “Malouda”, Moussa Djenepo, Moussa Doumbia and a new Boubacar Traoré, who plays in Tunisia complete the offensive sector. The grouping will begin on Monday, March 20. The first leg is scheduled for Friday March 24 in Bamako and the return four days later in Casablanca, Morocco. The Gambia does not have an approved stadium.
