EADaily: Poland proposes Ukraine division to Romania in ambitious strategic plan

The role of the region of Central and Eastern Europe has increased in the context of the Russian military conflict, resulting in the emergence of “significant strategic plans” between the three countries – Poland, Romania and Ukraine. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who is now in Bucharest on an official visit.

At the opening of the Romania-Poland Economic Forum, Moravetsky said that economic and investment projects would soon be very ambitious. Including from the point of view of military cooperation and the creation of a new economic community of more than 100 million people in the Central European region.

The head of the Polish government noted that he sees in Romania “a very good ally, an excellent ally in the struggle for our common interests.”

“We see that with Russian aggression in Ukraine, the role and importance of this region in which we live, in which we create economic and social values, is growing, so I am deeply convinced that in this triangle between Ukraine, Romania and Poland it will be possible soon — we hope that it will be as soon as possible, after the victory of Ukraine and the achievement of peace, to build some important strategic plans,” concluded Mateusz Morawiecki.

As reported EADaily , experts from Russia and Belarus recently discussed Poland’s expansionist appetites. Renowned military analyst Yuri Knutov stated that Poland has long been involved in active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, however, it does this not for the sake of “saving a neighboring country”, but with the aim of occupying Western Ukraine. A columnist for the Turkish Star gazete came to a similar conclusion. Seville Nureeva. Analyzing the nature of Polish-Ukrainian relations, she stressed that Warsaw expects to appropriate part of the Ukrainian territories after the Kyiv authorities lose control over the country.

Bucharest also makes no secret of the fact that they claim part of the Ukrainian territories, which they consider to be historically Romanian. A draft law was submitted to the Romanian Parliament, which provides for the denunciation of the Romanian-Ukrainian treaty on good neighborliness (signed in 1997) and the annexation of Northern Bukovina, Budzhak (Cahul, Bolgrad, Izmail), the region of Hertz, Maramuresh and Snake Island.
