‘Each person’s symbiosis room’ and ‘Amutttasaejip’… Residential space trends that will be popular next year

It has been predicted that in the future, ‘coexistence rooms’, where families can live independently even if they live together, will spread in the housing market. Fides Development, a real estate development company, is planning space trends for 2024 and 2025, including ‘Care Hub’, ‘Mega Localor’, ‘Pop-up in City’, and ‘Retired Woman’. It was announced on the 11th that seven concepts were selected, including ‘Man’s House’, ‘Amutttasae House’, ‘Each Living Room’, and ‘Demic-Free Zone’. Since 2009, Fides Development has been releasing space trends every other year, which is a synthesis of future housing consumer perception surveys and big data analysis. Fides Development predicted that in the future, ‘separate living rooms’, where people can live independently even if they live together, will evolve and develop. For example, it is predicted that different lifestyles and sleeping habits among married couples will lead to independent space consumption, such as using twin beds or each having a private room. It is also predicted that the number of households enjoying ‘two-house living’ by living in a main home and a second home after retirement will increase. It is also predicted that the phenomenon of ‘Amuttasaejib’, which means wanting a new house without asking or questioning anything, will also appear. It is expected that not only apartments but also non-apartments such as officetels, urban living houses, dormitories, and lodging facilities will attract attention as housing alternatives if they are new. Care-centered ‘Care Hub’ content is also becoming more diverse. A frequent store in a residential alley acts as a care manager, and a school scheduled to close evolves into a care center that is as good as a large new apartment community. It is also expected that ‘Retired Yeonamdaek’, a senior residential complex for active seniors who have retired from work and family life, will appear. In addition to complex developments such as senior housing where people can continue to live where they used to live, senior housing complexes that provide a variety of spaces and services in conjunction with medical institutions are expanding. As infectious diseases become routine, the concept of a pandemic-free zone, which places greater emphasis on hygiene and quarantine in space, was also presented. Artificial intelligence (AI) detects pollution, viruses, and even allergens, and the vertical single-family home concept apartment, which blocks transmission paths while minimizing physical connections with other households through a double floor structure and independent piping, is a luxury product. It was predicted that it would appear. Kim Hee-jeong, director of the Fides Development Research and Development Center, said, “The 2024-2025 space will be a super-aging society with more than 20% of the population over 65 years old, with active seniors emerging as major consumers, issues of urban competitiveness, urban regeneration, and personalization of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology. “It is expected that it will evolve and develop through the interaction of various factors,” he said. “We hope that consumer satisfaction will increase by developing space products that fit changing trends.” Reporter Choi Jong-hoon cjhoon@hani.co.kr
