Each Extremaduran will spend an average of 60 euros in the lottery for the Christmas draw, the sixth region with the lowest spending

MADRID/MRIDA, 17 (PRESS EUROPE)

Each Extremaduran will spend an average of 60.77 euros for the extraordinary drawing of the Christmas lottery to be held on December 22, below the average for Spaniards, which stands at 69.36 euros, according to the shipping figure per inhabitant of the State Lottery and State Betting Society (SELAE).

This amount is an estimate as the data will be final when returns of tickets not sold during the campaign of this traditional lottery are received.

By region, the autonomous community that will probably spend the most per inhabitant this year is Castilla y León, with an average of 109.62 euros, followed by La Rioja (102.54 euros), Asturias (100.95 euros), Aragón (94.20 euros), Cantabria (89.78 euros), Community of Madrid (79.59 euros), Castilla-La Mancha (78.28 euros), Valencian Community (77.64 euros), Pas Vasco (77, 50 euros) and Galicia (71.16 euros).

Meanwhile, according to data collected by Europa Press, those who will spend the least this year are still the inhabitants of the autonomous cities of Ceuta (16.03 euros) and Melilla (16.28 euros), followed by those of the Balearic Islands (39.63 euros), the Canary Islands (43.70 euros), Catalonia (54.74 euros), Andalusia (57.32 euros), Navarre (57.64 euros), Extremadura (60.77 euros) and Murcia (67.15 euros) .

In this way, the more than 69 euros spent per person correspond to the sales estimates made by SELAE when sending the tickets to the lottery administrations, even if there is always a share of tenths that remains unsold.

During this year’s campaign presentation, lottery president Jesús Huerta Almendro said he expects sales in 2022 to be similar to last year’s Christmas draw. “We are confident we can build on the data from the last campaign, which was a historic sales record,” he added. In 2021, almost 5.7 million euros in turnover corresponded to the online channel, according to SELAE data, collected by Europa Press.

MADRID, THE COMMUNITY THAT WILL SELL THE MOST LOTTERY

As for the different autonomous communities, where the majority of the Christmas Lottery is expected to be sold is in Madrid (537.3 million euros delivered), followed by Andalusia (485.6 million euros), Catalonia (424.9 million euros), Valencian Community (392.7 million euros), Castilla y León (261.2 million euros), Galicia (191.8 million euros), Pas Vasco (171.5 million euros), Castilla -La Mancha (160.4 million euros) and Aragn (124.9 million euros).
