EA SPORTS NHL 25 will be released on October 4, 2024 for PS5 and Xbox Series

Electronic Arts announces that EA SPORTS NHL 25 will be released worldwide for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on October 4th.

More about EA SPORTS NHL 25

EA SPORTS NHL 25 is powered by ICE-Q, giving fans the time and space to control every inch of the ice to create an experience that best reflects the essence of the NHL. ICE-Q is powered by a new logic-based animation system that responds to contextual events with realism and forms the foundation for Chel’s gameplay overhaul. Next-gen Vision Control Skating allows players to cross the blue line, close in on the puck carrier, keep an eye on the goal and more. Empowered AI helps execute authentic plays with a revamped playbook, improving power plays and opening up the ice for better positioning and offensive opportunities.

In addition, Reactive Actions enables NHL players to react better in critical situations with a series of new animations, increasing their responsiveness, collision avoidance and reliability. “The new ICE-Q gameplay system represents a fundamental change in the way fans will experience the game, as its deep intelligence gives them complete control of the ice,” says Mike Inglehart, Senior Game Design Director at EA Vancouver. “Hockey is simply different: NHL 25 offers more authenticity, greater team rivalries and is inspired by the next generation superstars who continue to redefine the game.”

So much new

NHL 25 includes gameplay changes, skill-based one-timers, a new structure for WOC live events, HUT Wildcard Mode, and a simplified, unified XP progression in HUT. Skill-based one-timers enhance authentic gameplay and create unique moments. By reading the attack zone and finding an open teammate, players are rewarded with an effective one-timer that leads to spectacular scoring opportunities. The new Grudge Match system tracks the history of matches between teams in all major online and offline modes and enriches the series with special X-factors earned in previous matches against rival teams.

The fan-favorite Franchise Mode is also getting an overhaul, starting with the Franchise Hub, which features streamlined navigation that gives players access to new, relevant, and easy-to-understand information. This improved Franchise Mode user experience is just one of many updates planned for the mode. More details on all upcoming features will be announced in detailed deep dive videos. EA Play members will receive a 10-hour trial that begins seven days before launch, as well as NHL 25-In-game rewards and discounts throughout the season. What do you think, are you looking forward to the game?
