Console purchases continue to decline
In contrast, however, console purchases declined. In total, only 263,000 units were sold in key markets, excluding Germany and the UK. Sales figures in July 2024 recorded a significant year-on-year decline of 46%.
Despite this overall decline, the PlayStation 5 remained the best-selling console, but it saw a drastic drop of 56%. The Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S also saw a significant decline: Nintendo Switch sales fell 29%, while Xbox Series X|S sales fell 42%.
