EA has decided to close the platform they introduced Origin. Since 2011, gamers have been able to turn to Origin for all EA games, but EA believes it is time for a newer and more modern version. And so the end of Origin is in sight.
Of course, it is not the case that Origin disappears from the face of the earth and then nothing takes its place. In fact, EA wants to provide gamers with a next-gen PC gaming platform with their new platform, called EA Desktop. On the new platform, memberships of EA (EA Play en EA Play Pro) even more pushed. Gamers can also download their games more easily and quickly via the new platform.
It is not yet clear when the transition will start. EA does let players know in advance not to worry about their current Origin account – Your games and your friends will all be transferred to the new system.
