It has recently been reported that EA and FIFA have had problems agreeing. It has been about the name license and the name FIFA in EA’s popular football game series. According to Jeff Grubb from VentureBeath, EA is now tired and goes on without the name FIFA. Instead, the game will be renamed to EA Sports FC where FC stands for “Football Club”. Grubb told this during the podcast GrubbSnax. The football talk comes around 18 minutes into the clip.
It is unclear if this will apply from this year as EA has not officially announced the game yet. However, we must treat this as a rumor until EA itself tells about the name change, but given what we know about the conflict, a name change feels likely.
