EA Doesn’t Appear To Be Involved With Aspyr’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

It appears that EA and BioWare are in no way involved in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. EA came up with a rather cryptic statement after questions from Geoff Keighley.

The Game Awards chief questioned the company about its possible involvement in the game, given that BioWare made the original and is now owned by EA.

EA’s statement is slightly hilarious and frustrating at the same time, de Wacht thinks; in full sentences, little concrete comes out of the mouth of EA’s spokesperson. “We are working on Star Wars games,” is the only unequivocal answer the Guard read in the statement. If we can attach a qualification to that, it looks like a ‘no’, and Aspyr is working on the remake on its own. Fortunately, BioWare’s statement that appeared on Twitter yesterday was a lot clearer:

The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced at the PlayStation Showcase last Thursday. Aspyr Media is rebuilding the game from the ground up in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, it announced during the presentation. If you want to check all the announcements from the presentation again, check out the N8W8 of Friday.
