E6 at Nord-Sel Closed Due to Rock Slide: Police Fear Further Landslides

The E6 at Nord-Sel was closed due to a rock slide at 4.30 pm.

The roadway has not been hit, but the police fear that new landslides may occur.

The police and the fire service are on the scene.

– We have no control and are closing the E6, operations manager at the Innlandet police district, Kristian Bjaanes, told NRK at 5pm.

He stated that a geologist would come to the site to assess the landslide hazard.

Vegtrafikksentralen says it is usually a busy road.

– Now it’s the weekend and the traffic is a little quieter, so so far we have not received any feedback that there is anything problematic about the traffic flow there, says Tone Sorken in the Road Traffic Center East.

She says that there is a detour on Selsveien, county road 2614, which runs on the west side of the E6.

CLOSED: There has been a rock slide across the E6. 150 meters south of the entrance to Nord-Sel.
