There has been a traffic accident on the E18 leaving the railway bridge at Asker.
– This will cause significant traffic delays.
The director of operations in the Oslo police district, Rune Heklestrand, tells VG that one person is slightly injured.
– The truck somehow ended up in both lanes. He also collided with a car, where one person in that car is slightly injured and will be examined.
At 1.30pm, the police and the Swedish Road Traffic Center report that the E18 is open again.
Travel and chaos
The police are on site. It is not possible to drive on the E18 in the direction of Drammen.
Vegtrafikksentralen East believes it will be busy due to the incident.
– Now it can quickly become chaos, yes. Our contractor is on his way, but I don’t know how long it will be before they are there. All three emergency services plus a tow truck are on site, traffic operator Mikael Olsen tells VG.
The traffic chaos in Asker doesn’t stop there. Police say a van drove over the Gamle Drammensvei hill near Føya. It is not possible to pass in any direction on the site.
Tungberger is going to the spot.
The hinterland
There are also traffic problems inside. Highway 3 is closed after a traffic accident.
A truck and a car were involved in the accident. There must be a rear-end collision with the car.
It is open to the passage of cars, but there are slippery and difficult driving conditions at the site.
– Driving conditions are slippery and difficult almost everywhere. People don’t pay attention and don’t realize it’s slippery. It’s important to think about it and take it well, says Innlandet Police District Operations Manager, Rune Vegard Huse.
