E18, Traffic | Long queues on the E18: – This is the new normal

There is a big delay on the E18 towards Oslo this morning, and the queues started building before 06.00.

The queue already started before Asker center and went to Sandvika. The traffic got worse with a minor road accident near Høvik church, where a car was stuck in the ditch.

The assembly area was also closed on the spot, according to The messenger.

The driving time from Asker to Skøyen was up to an hour, and it took more than three times as long to drive from Asker to Holmen as usual. The driving time from Holmen to Sandvika has also been significantly extended.

– Tuesday is the worst day for queues, as usual, says traffic operator Gry Solli in Vegtrafikksentralen East to Nettavisen.

Solli emphasizes that it is difficult to know why Tuesday is the worst day of the week for driving. She believes that one reason may be that more people take their home office on Monday and therefore choose to travel on Tuesday.

– The queues are also long because the public transport zone on the E18 has been removed. This is the new normal, she said.

It is recommended to calculate enough time and possibly consider alternative routes if you are going to drive on the E18 into Oslo in the morning hours.
