E-reader delivery causes bomb scare on Kleine Gent Street

Sientje received an email this afternoon that her e-reader had been delivered, but there was nothing in her mailbox. “After half an hour I saw that the street was cordoned off and then the EOD, the police, the fire brigade, the whole rataplan came,” she says.

The package turned out to have been delivered to an empty house across the street from Kleine Gent, the street where she lives. “It looked suspicious because it was wrapped in black tape, they didn’t dare turn it over.”

‘Kill me to death’

The address with the correct house number appeared to be on the bottom of the package and the e-reader has now been delivered to Sientje. Although it is of course not her fault, she finds it very annoying for her local residents. “I’m really embarrassed. No one was allowed to leave their house, apologies to all local residents who were stuck.”

Sientje is grateful for all the emergency services and happy that she can now read. She hopes that the postman will pay more attention from now on, although she can also laugh about it. “It’s a good story.”
