E.ON Poland. Electricity prices 2022 – rate hike

E.ON Polska (formerly innogy Polska) increases the electricity rate by 33.2 percent. The trade fee is also rising. The changes will come into force on January 1, 2022.

E.ON Polska informed about the new, higher rates in letters sent to customers. “Due to the increase in prices on wholesale markets, we are unfortunately forced to increase the price of electricity by 33.2 percent, and the trade fee by a maximum of PLN 1.91 per month” – we read.

From January 1, 2022, the basic rate per kWh 24 hours a day in the G11 tariff (including households) will amount to PLN 0.5407 gross, previously it was PLN 0.4059 gross.

Electricity tariffs account for about half of the final electricity bill.

E.ON Polska added to the letter to its customers a chart of energy quotations on the Polish Power Exchange, showing an increase in prices by over 100%. in 2021. The company informed that the price increase was due to, inter alia, rising costs of carbon dioxide emission allowances and rising costs of raw materials and fuels used to generate energy, i.e. European prices of coal and gas.

“The costs of servicing energy sales and billing are also increasing, for which the so-called commercial fee is responsible on your invoice” – added. From January 1, 2022, the trading fee in the billing period: 1-month will be PLN 29.16 (PLN 27.26 currently), 6-month fee PLN 9.56 (PLN 7.69 currently), 12-month fee PLN 7.13 ( PLN 5.23 now).

Electricity prices 2022

E.ON Polska is an electricity seller that operates mainly in Warsaw. As we read on the company’s website, it has over 1 million individual and business customers. This is one of the energy companies that shapes the price list itself. For this purpose, he does not have to submit a tariff application to the Energy Regulatory Office, unlike the state-controlled sellers: Enea, Energa Obrót, PGE Obrót and Tauron Sprzedaż.

The President of the Energy Regulatory Office announced in mid-December that approved tariffs for the sale of energy for these four sellers. The rates rise by an average of 37 percent. As stated, the total average increase in the statistical household account accounted for comprehensively (sales and distribution in the G11 group) is to amount to approx. 24 percent compared to 2021.

At the same time, it should be remembered that from January 1, 2022, as part of the so-called of the anti-inflationary shield, the VAT rate for electricity will drop from 23 to 5 percent. Lower rates will apply until the end of March. For longer, because for 5 months (until the end of May), the excise tax exemption for electricity sales will apply. This means that the real change in recipients’ payments may be different than indicated by the ERO or by the energy sellers themselves.
