E-learning
The e-learning from Rutgers and School & Safety offers eight modules with tips and information on topics that touch on ‘healthy relationships and sexuality’ and that you may encounter as a school and teacher:
Sexual integrity and a safe atmosphere; Teaching about relationships & sexuality; Dealing with differences; Sexual development; Sexual misconduct; Professional knowledge; Contact with parents; School-wide work on relationships & sexuality.
The e-learning is free and can be found in the Rutgers Learning Portal. Each module takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes
Website SEGGYS
Of website SEGGYS offers information, tips, videos, podcasts and quizzes aimed at young people between 16 and 18 years old and about themes such as falling in love, flirting, dating, (sexual) identity, pleasure in sex and relationships, manners and recognizing each other’s wishes and boundaries.
Previous research showed that many young people would like to learn more at school about these kinds of ‘fun, personal and social aspects of relationships and sexuality’, in addition to the more technical information they already receive about, for example, reproduction, contraception and STDs. However, it can be difficult for teachers to discuss these kinds of personal and sometimes charged themes. The SEGGYS website can be a helpful tool in this regard; the offer on this website can be used as teaching material and/or as a reason to discuss ‘healthy relationships and sexuality’.
SEGGSY is an initiative of Rutgers, Soa Aids Nederland and Dance4Life.
Rutgers and Soa Aids Nederland are also knowledge partners Healthy School. Together with Gezonde School they work on the theme ‘relationships and sexuality’.
