ABU DHABI, March 10, 2020 / WAM / The “e& Group” announced that it has sent communications equipment worth 20 million dirhams as a humanitarian initiative to the telecommunications sector in Turkey to contribute to rebuilding the sector’s infrastructure in the earthquake-affected areas.
This step comes as a continuation of a previous initiative launched by the e& group to confirm the group’s keenness to participate in the operation “The Gallant Knight 2”, which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, directed to start it last month to support the Turkish and Syrian peoples, following the aftermath of the earthquakes. It is also an extension of the “Bridges of Good” campaign aimed at supporting relief efforts.
The communications equipment that will be sent includes more than 4,000 radio and digital units to re-operate the affected mobile phone network stations, which supports the infrastructure of the telecommunications sector in the friendly Republic of Turkey and helps the return of services affected by this crisis.

He pointed out that Etisalat from e& had announced last February that it would provide free calls from its network in the United Arab Emirates to both the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic and the friendly Republic of Turkey as part of its humanitarian response in the face of the effects of the earthquake disaster, and its keenness to continue its role in connecting communities and keeping them alive.
