The business union announced the launch of the first edition of Cyber Days 2024, which will take place between March 18 and 22, where the most representative brands of Peruvian e-commerce will participate.
By 2024, it is estimated that electronic commerce will register an economic movement of more than US$23 billion, which will represent a growth of 15% compared to the previous year (US$20 billion), projected Jaime Montenegro, leader of the Digital Transformation Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce.
“For this year, it is expected that, given a higher level of economic and political stability, a recovery in e-commerce sales will be achieved. And, with the impact generated by events such as Cyber campaigns, and other important campaigns in the Peruvian online commercial calendar, the projected growth levels are estimated,” he said.
For this year, it is estimated that the average monthly ticket in digital purchases will register a growth of 20% compared to 2023, and that it would predominantly fluctuate between S/500 and S/750.
“It should be noted that the average ticket in 2023 had an approximate drop of 15% compared to 2022, due to the situation of instability and the recession. For this year the context is more encouraging, since a recovery in economic activity is in sight,” he commented.
It should be noted that, in 2023, nearly 20 million Peruvians made online purchases, showing an increase of 30% compared to the previous year. However, that year there was no strong growth in online purchases, mainly due to the complicated political and economic situation that the country experienced.
Cyber Days 2024
As part of the different efforts that the Lima Chamber of Commerce has been making to promote the country’s digital economy, the launch of the first 2024 edition of Cyber Days was announced.
Between March 18 and 22, nearly 100 Peruvian e-commerce brands will show their most attractive offers and exclusive promotions on the portal www.cyberdays.pe.
“This event plays a crucial role in promoting electronic commerce in Peru, as it promotes the adoption of e-commerce among both consumers and businesses,” he said.
This is the 34th edition of the most important Peruvian online sales campaign, with 5 days where Peruvians will find the most attractive offers of this season of the year.
“For this first Cyber Days of the year, it is projected that online transactions will exceed S/ 180 million, where online businesses will have the opportunity to increase and reactivate their sales in a context of economic recovery,” noted Montenegro.
