How did it come about? In June 2020 the federal government approved the Innovation bonus doubled for e-cars from 3000 to 6000 euros. The money is available when you buy an e-car and keep it for at least six months – or lease one for at least 23 months. The bonus is reduced for shorter leasing periods. Michaela Kreutziger’s VW Up was delivered in October 2020 and was therefore eligible for funding. In addition, it benefited from the leasing conditions mentioned above. On top of that there was for the automaker back then Support from the city of Hamburg. For environmental reasons, she wanted to make e-mobility more palatable to commuters. It worked for Michaela Kreutziger. She is now planning to install a Wallbox. There is currently 900 euros in support from the federal government. However, the case cannot serve as a guide to making money. The Funding opportunities differ depending on the region, funding object, applicant and time.
