According to Delfi organizers, the Year of the Sun will be danced in four dance bands with an annual story – from the summer solstice to the next summer solstice, showing that our ancestors celebrated not only Midsummer, Christmas and Easter, but also many other celebrations. : St. Michael’s Day, Meteņi, Ūsiņi, Mara’s Day, Laidene’s Day, Labrenča’s Day, Barbara’s Day. 621 dance groups participated in the creation of the video for the musical composition “Celebrate the Sun” in the final of the grand concert. 12 thousand dancers danced online in a six-minute emotional get-together and survive the holiday. The video is created by reflecting the reality of this time – the distance learning process, dancing alone, with distance, at the same time emphasizing that the tradition of song and dance festival, love for dance and readiness to dance, create and be together is stronger than anything.
