Called DynaTAC 8000X, it was a Motorola device and was responsible for making the first call from a cell phone, on April 3, 1973. The forerunner of this incredible movement was Martin Cooper, an engineer who worked at Motorola and earned the nickname of “Mobile Dad”.

Despite the great feat, the DynaTAC 8000X was marketed just ten years after Martin Cooper made the connection. He went from 13 kg to 1.1 kg and did not depend on the car battery to function. It had its own battery pack and could maintain a call for up to thirty minutes.
To reach a full charge, the cell phone needed to stay ten hours in the socket. Which was a long time, if we think that today there are devices that charge in, at most, an hour. Another interesting point is that the cell phone could store only thirty phones in memory.
Finally, the cell phone held only thirty minutes of conversation and the entire device reached 33 centimeters. To give you an idea, the largest iPad available for sale is 12.5 cm.
