Dynasty Warriors: Origins Producer Regrets Character Choice Omission

Dynasty Warriors:⁤ Origins: A Strategic Look at the Roster

The highly anticipated Dynasty Warriors: Origins is shaping⁤ up too ‍be a ‍unique entry in the franchise. While fans eagerly await its release, questions have arisen regarding⁣ the game’s roster of ⁢playable characters. The game’s setting, spanning from the Yellow Turban Rebellion to the Battle of Red Cliff, significantly impacts character selection. ‍This past context, coupled with development⁤ considerations, has resulted in a carefully⁢ curated list of heroes.

Zhuang Zhiyan,a key developer, explained,”The plot setting of this ⁢game covers the period‍ from the Yellow Turban Rebellion to the Battle of Red Cliff,so‌ the⁣ selection of unparalleled generals in the game is limited by the background ⁢of the era,and only heroes active in this period of history can be selected. At the same time, to balance the game’s capacity and content density, ⁢the development team set a fixed number of ’47 unparalleled⁤ generals and 9⁤ accompanying generals’ in the early stages.”

The game’s narrative focuses on the protagonist,Zi Luan, offering ⁢a‍ fresh outlook on the Three Kingdoms period. Zhuang Zhiyan further clarified, “Dynasty Warriors: Origins aims to experience the ⁣history of the Three Kingdoms from the perspective of ⁢the protagonist ‘Zi Luan’. Most of the‌ unparalleled generals appear⁣ as enemies or allies, rather than⁣ characters that players can directly control. However, the three major camps of⁣ Cao cao, Sun Jian, and Liu ⁤Bei each have three generals who can become accompanying generals under specific circumstances, providing players with short-term‌ operational opportunities.”

The absence of certain fan-favorite characters, however, has⁤ sparked⁤ discussion. Tomohiko Sho, a‌ veteran developer who introduced Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao in Dynasty Warriors 2 and Cao Ren in Dynasty Warriors 3, shared his perspective: “As‌ the person who added Daqiao Xiaoqiao in “2” and Cao ren in “3”, I ‌had‌ a very painful ‌feeling about them not appearing. The same ⁢goes for other unrivaled military commanders added after “6” that appeared before the Battle of Red Cliffs.”

Sho specifically mentioned his disappointment at not including Cao Ren, a personal favorite, in Origins. He ‍expressed hope that future installments might explore Cao Ren’s⁤ post-Red Cliff exploits, giving‌ fans a ⁤chance to experience ⁤his heroism in a⁢ future title. Zhuang Zhiyan concluded by encouraging players to stay tuned for further updates, promising more details on the ⁤game’s systems ⁢and characters ‌in ⁣the coming weeks.
