2021 should be a very special year for Philipp Hosiner (31). The striker wants to move up to the second division with Dynamo. In July, the Austrian becomes a dad for the first time.
In BILD, Hosiner is now revealing the baby secret. “It’s going to be a boy,” he reveals. The attacker also says: “We would have been just as happy about a girl, the main thing is healthy.”
Together with his wife Julia, whom he has known for almost 12 years, he is looking forward to the birth.
In the 4: 3 win against Kaiserlautern at the end of January, the striker had announced the offspring at the goal celebration, shone with a brace and two assists. Afterwards, Hosiner said with a beam: “That really inspires.”
Nevertheless, the success on the pitch has stalled a bit. Only in Meppen (4-0) did the penalty area player shine again with a template and a hit.
Hosiner explains: “In the last four games against the direct pursuers, we as an offensive department were more defensive in demand. We had to help more there because we didn’t want to run into the open knife. “
Before the last eight games against teams from the third division midfield, however, the former Bundesliga professional made it clear: “It will be important to get back into the rhythm at the front. We now have to sensitize ourselves differently. “
In other words: The entire team has to go offensively.
The bare facts show: Dynamo have been goalless for over five halves – longer than ever this season. There have only been two goals in the last four games. Little was seen of the dreaded, lightning-fast switching game.
Hosiner himself feels that he has been hanging more in the air in the end. “I worry too,” he admits. “But it’s not a request concert.”
At the next game on Sunday in Unterhaching, however, things should be different: “We want to pull the lever by doing simple things, positioning ourselves better in the penalty area and getting more chances.”
The veteran prepares himself for it with a mental trick: “During training this week I sometimes put the ball a few meters in front of the empty goal and hit it. This helps.”
Because when Hosiner holds his junior in his hands for the first time in summer, he wants to be a second division dad …
