Football fans in training” is a project that aims to pave the way for supporters of professional clubs to lead a long-term healthy lifestyle. In addition to numerous courses, a large tournament also takes place once a year as part of the campaign.

Last year, the representatives of the sports community in Cologne prevailed, which is why Dynamo submitted an application to be the next organizer and brought the event to the Elbe.

Apart from traditional clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburger SV, a “FFIT” selection from RB Leipzig is also part of the field of participants on Saturday, as SGD press spokesman Christoph Antal (29) told us TAG24 confirmed.

However, some of the Dresden Ultras don’t like it at all. The Instagram account “K-Block Dynamo” therefore shared a statement on the social media platform and spoke out very clearly against the involvement of the “artificial product from Leipzig”.

In fact, the fan representatives even called for the “immediate exclusion of the Leipzig team from tomorrow’s fan tournament, as well as from all other similar events in the future,” it said in the post.

Seven years after the DFB Cup game against the Messestadters, in which the Dresdeners officially celebrated with the words “Feldi instead of Brause” on their shirts, the solidarity with the supporters has been forgotten.

The K-Block accuses them of betraying their own values and sweeping the “detail” under the carpet in the much-advertised tournament announcement.

However, the SGD denied having a say in the selection. When asked, the third division team explained that the organizer was the German Cancer Aid, “which also determines the field of participants in advance and takes over the organization on site in close cooperation with the hosting club.”

The public and clear disapproval of the ultras is to be clarified in a “direct exchange” with the active fans and therefore no comment is made regarding any “disagreements, especially regarding the manner, severity and choice of words of the criticism”.

Nevertheless, it is “extremely regrettable that the anticipation of such a fantastic event, which we have been looking forward to within the club for several months, is now being dampened.”

The club will still do everything to ensure that the “important message from ‘football fans in training’ for a healthier life through sport and proper nutrition as elementary tools for cancer prevention remains in the foreground. FFIT should and will remain a success story at the SGD .”

The final games of the fan competition on the artificial turf next to the RHS, Blüherstrasse entrance, will kick off at 4.30 p.m., followed by the award ceremony.
