The previous meeting of the teams within the framework of the 21st round of the Ukrainian Premier League ended with the victory of “Dynamo” — 2:0.

During 19 rounds of UPL, “Zorya” won five times, conceded seven times and drew the same number of times. In the previous match with “Metalist 1925” they won – 2:1. On Monday, the Kyiv team defeated Vorskla on the road with a score of 1:5. Andrii Yarmolenko, who just returned after a long injury, managed to make his mark in the match. The football player last played on the field in October 2023 against “Alexandria”.

Shovkovsky’s team has gained momentum and is in great shape. So Kyiv was considered the favorites in this confrontation. Instead, “Zorya” found itself close to the relegation zone and does not surprise the rivals.

From the first minutes of the match, the initiative was on the side of Kyiv. Dynamo managed to score a quick goal already on the seventh: in the penalty area, Vanat beat Churk, passed to Shaparenko, who threw it to Andrievsky, the midfielder was not confused and scored a touch from 13 meters – 0:1.

“Zorya” responded to this with a dangerous moment, but Bushchan confidently took the ball into his hands. Later, Vanat made a low kick, but Saputin played well in the episode.

In the 22nd minute, Kabaev scored a masterpiece goal from Shaparenko’s pass into the opponent’s goal: from about 30 meters, the winger powerfully punched into the near nine, the goalkeeper was powerless – 0:2.

After a two-goal lead, “Dynamo” slowed down and played by the score, which Luhansk tried to take advantage of. However, they managed only one dangerous moment: in the 43rd minute, after a wing pass, Bugai made a sneaky shot at the goal, but Bushchan successfully reacted.

After the break, “Zorya” had the initiative: in the 53rd minute, Guerrero shot into the goal of Buschan, the goalkeeper made a save, then Bugai picked up the ball, the Luhansk team continued its positional attack.

Despite all her efforts, in the 67th minute, “Dynamo” put an end to the match – it scored for the third time: from a corner, Andrievsky made a cross into the penalty area, Yarmolenko threw it to the far post, where Brazhko headed the ball into the goal – 0:3.

It is interesting that three former players of the Luhansk club scored for Kyiv in this match.

Thanks to the crushing victory, “Dynamo” climbed to the third step of the UPL tournament table with 44 points, it has two more games in reserve.

Kyiv’s unbeaten streak continues. The last time in the Premier League they lost to Shakhtar Donetsk back in November of last year (0:1).
