However, recently, some foreign users pointed out that the dynamic island area of the iPhone 14 Pro Max they were using had screen burn-in (image retention). Judging by the photos, there is a very noticeable afterimage on the edge of the dynamic island on the screen.
This user said they contacted Apple’s after-sales service and the staff said they never encountered the dynamic island burn-in situation. Fortunately, this user purchased Apple Care+, so there’s no screen replacement cost.
At the same time, another netizen also published an article stating that the iPhone 14 Pro, which he bought less than a month ago, was also suffering from dynamic island burn-in. Therefore, some netizens complained that the dynamic island has become a burning island.
It is reported that although OLED screens have richer, more saturated colors and more noticeable contrast, OLED screens will inevitably experience image retention due to displaying the same image in the same position for a long time.
However, with the improvement of OLED technology, it is rare to see a large number of screen burn problems in mobile phones. For Apple, which is a benchmark in the mobile phone market and is emulated by other brands, the screen burn-in situation is really a bit unexpected.
