DYFI worker hacked to death by BJP workers in Kayamkulam. Ambadi (21), the son of Santhosh and Shakuntala couple, was killed in Devikulangara Govindamuttam Pathisheri Velaserilthara. The incident took place at Krishnapuram Kappil near Kuttipuram Kalathatt at 6 pm on Monday. In the case, two BJP workers were taken into custody by the police within hours.

Ambadi, who had gone on a bike with his friend to play cricket, was stopped by three men on a bike and stabbed. The assailants escaped by the time the neighbors came running. Ambadi, who sustained a fatal wound in the neck, was pronounced dead at Kayamkulam Govt. He was taken to Taluk Hospital where he died. He also had cuts on his hand and face.

The police said that the BJP workers who were taken into custody belonged to the drug mafia and citation gang. One is also an accused in a POCSO case. CPI-M and DYFI have called for a hartal in Devikulangara panchayat from 2 to 6 on Wednesday in protest against the murder.
