Dybala contract extension: imminent meeting with Juventus, possible release clause

According to several reports in Italy, Paulo Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun will meet with Juventus managers tomorrow and they could decide to include a release clause in the striker’s new contract.

Antun arrived in Italy from Argentina two weeks ago but had to quarantine himself for ten days, in accordance with COVID regulations in force in the country.

According to Goal.com and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dybala’s agent will meet with Juventus manager Federico Cherubini tomorrow, Sunday August 7, to start negotiations.

The two sides are unlikely to come to an agreement when they first meet.

Dybala’s € 7million per year contract expires in June 2022 and Juventus could offer him a further € 8million per year bonus to reach € 10million.

The Argentine rejected a similar offer last year, but Juventus are confident a deal can be found this time around.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com report that if the two sides fail to come to an economic deal, they could decide to include a release clause in the striker’s contract to make up the difference between the offer and Requirement.

According to Calciomercato.com, the player’s agent wants the release clause to be in the range of € 40-50million, while the club set the player’s transfer fee at € 70million.
