DxOMark website published test results of two new smartphones – iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. The first got a score of 128 points, the same result for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. The second iPhone received a better camera, so the score is higher – 130 points. He lacked two points to the Huawei P40 Pro.

The iPhone 12 Pro is not so different from last year’s iPhone in terms of the camera, the improvements were mainly made to the wide-angle module. The advantages of the DxOMark smartphone include very accurate focusing and exposure of photos, good color rendition and detail, as well as excellent video stabilization. And in the cons they recorded: a small dynamic range, noise and loss of detail in low light.

The camera of the iPhone 12 Pro Max turned out to be more interesting, because it has a much larger main sensor than other iPhones, and the telephoto has a 2.5x magnification. Due to the increased pixels, it has much better dynamic range and less noise in low light. The minuses indicated a telephoto lens, because competitors already offer 5x and even 10x magnification.

The new iPhone also has a better portrait mode due to the additional lidar camera. It uses infrared rays to determine the depth of scenes and more accurately separates people from the background.
