This Sunday, October 27, Dwyane Wade will be officially immortalized in front of the Kaseya Center in Miami. The statue of the greatest player in the history of the Heat franchise will indeed be unveiled from 5 p.m. local time (10 p.m. in France).
Right in front of the entrance to the Kaseya Center, at the top of the stairs leading to the Miami Heat room, we can currently see a very large box covered with a black sheet. Below, there is the new statue of Dwyane Wade, created by sculptors Oscar León and Omri Amrany.

It is therefore this Sunday, late afternoon in Miami and late evening back home in France, that Dwyane Wade will enter the circle of NBA legends with their own statue.
Nothing could be more normal for the man who is rightly considered the GOAT of the Miami Heat, notably winning three championship titles with the team that drafted him in 2003, and possessing countless franchise records. Already honored with a street in his name (and even a county, aka Wade County) and a jersey retired at the top of the Kaseya Center, D-Wade will now be entitled to the greatest honors.
It remains to be seen what this statue will look like: is it inspired by D-Wade’s “This Is My House” celebration? Is it inspired by a dunk Flash did in his younger years? Or something else entirely? Response in the coming hours. The sculptors, authors (among others) of the statue of Michael Jordan in Chicago, nevertheless dropped a little clue:
“We tried to eliminate gravity. In a way, the goal was to make you feel like you’re seeing a person in the air.” –Omri Amrany

A few days after the celebration of Pat Riley’s new floor, it is Dwyane Wade’s turn to have his moment of glory, he who will also be honored at halftime of the Heat – Pistons match Monday evening. Know that D-Wade participated in the creation of the statue, and that he will therefore not be able to act surprised when it is revealed. Tonight’s ceremony will also be accompanied by a mini-concert by Rick Ross, legendary Miami rapper. And the entire current Heat squad should respond.
In short, the moment promises to be magical for Miami Heat fans, who will be able to follow the ceremony on site or through the Heat’s YouTube channel (10 p.m. French time).
