Dworczyk on possible re-lockdown: The situation is dynamic

Today it is difficult to say unequivocally whether a re-lockdown will happen or not; the situation is very dynamic and we have to adapt our activities to its development – said Michał Dworczyk, the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister on TVN24. He added that the government’s policy aims to protect the lives and health of Poles, but also the economy.

Dworczyk was asked on TVN24 if the government is considering introducing a new lockdown. Today it is difficult to express yourself unequivocally because the situation is extremely dynamic; the incidence rates are indeed very large, they may still increase – stated the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

As he noted, “the government is currently pursuing a policy on the one hand to take care of the health and life of Poles, this is the most important issue”. On the other hand (taken) actions must not destroy an economy that has already suffered badly in the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic – added the minister.

Dworczyk expressed his hope that the re-lockdown, similar to the one we dealt with in spring, will not take place. But today, saying in a firm, unambiguous way that something will happen or something will not happen seems to me to be bad, because the situation is simply very dynamic and we have to adapt our actions to its development – emphasized the head of the prime minister’s office.

When asked about the possibility of closing the cemetery on November 1, he noted that “at the moment it is not considered”. On the other hand, we encourage and appeal to everyone to spread the visits to the graves of our loved ones over time, and to comply with all sanitary requirements when already in cemeteries; keep your distance and obey all regulations to contain the spread of the virus Dworczyk said.
