The morning conversation on RMF FM also touched on yesterday’s decision by US President Joe Biden to lift restrictions on the use of American long-range weapons to attack targets deep inside Russia. According to the guest, is this real help for Kiev?
Certainly, the use of such weapons in 2022 would be much more important than today. This is not a game changer of a military nature. This means that the situation on the front will not suddenly change because these long-range precision weapons will be used. Politically, however, this is a very important decision – said Dworczyk.
He also assured that President Andrzej Duda will support the government’s contacts with the administration of Donald Trump, who will soon take over as president of the United States. The president will support such contacts because he has always been pro-state. (…) I am convinced that he will use his good contacts with President Trump for the good of our country, said the politician. He said he believed that Polish-American relations would go well: There must only be some reflection – not only in words, but also in deeds on the part of the Polish government. And this reflection, for example, is not sending an ambassador, or rather the head of the facility, Mr. Klich, to the United States.

The topic of arresting the creator of Red is Bad, Paweł Szopa, also appeared in the Morning conversation on RMF FM.
I met him 12 years ago. (…) I don’t know what kind of testimony he will give. I know that the current government is determined to present all PiS activists as thieves and bandits. (…) – he said, adding that he was not afraid of what Paweł Szopa would say. However, I am sure that there will be pressure on him to politicize this matter and blame PiS politicians, he said.
He admitted that he supports the former president of the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves, Michał Kuczmierowski. I’ve known him for years, he’s a good friend of mine. I believe in his personal honesty, said the politician, adding that he visited him in custody in London.
Guest 2: I concur with Guest 1. The goal of the US and NATO has been to support Ukraine without escalating tensions to the point of direct conflict. While the risks are there, the current strategy seems focused on bolstering Ukraine’s defense without provoking Russia to retaliate against NATO countries.
## Thematic Section 1: The lifting of restrictions on long-range weapons and its impact on the conflict in Ukraine
Interviewer: Good morning, gentlemen. Thank you for joining me today. To kick off our conversation, let’s discuss the recent announcement by US President Joe Biden to lift restrictions on the use of American long-range weapons to attack targets deep inside Russia. In your opinion, what impact will this decision have on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine?
Guest 1: Well, from a military standpoint, I don’t believe this move will significantly alter the course of the war. However, politically, it carries great weight as it sends a clear message to both Ukraine and Russia about the United States’ support. It could potentially strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating position and deter further aggression from Russia.
Guest 2: I agree with Guest 1 to some extent. While the use of these weapons might not change the situation on the ground immediately, it shows that the US is committed to supporting Ukraine in their fight against Russian aggression. The decision also sends a signal to other countries who might be considering intervention.
Interviewer: What do you think about the timing of this decision? Do you think it comes too late or at an appropriate time?
Guest 1: I believe it’s a bit of both. The conflict has been going on for some time now, and these weapons could have been deployed earlier. However, better late than never. The decision is still significant as it demonstrates the US’s willingness to escalate its involvement if necessary.
Guest 2: I think the timing is crucial as it comes at a critical moment in the war. Russia’s recent offensive in the Donbas region has shown that they’re not deterred by international opposition. The US’s decision to lift restrictions could potentially shift the dynamics of the conflict in Ukraine’s favor.
Interviewer: Moving on to the next topic, there have been concerns regarding the potential escalation of the conflict and its impact on NATO countries. Do you think the lifting of these restrictions could lead to a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia?
Guest 1: It’s a valid concern, but I don’t think it’s likely. NATO countries have been careful to avoid direct engagement
