Former Teen Mom 2 star David Eason no longer faces DWI charges for last week’s arrest, but two more charges remain. Eason was arrested Friday night in Columbus County, North Carolina, on charges of impaired driving, driving with a revoked license and possession of an open container of alcohol in his car. According to a report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Eason has already beaten a charge, although his troubles are far from over.
A source at the Earl of Columbus Courthouse said DWI’s charge against Eason was “closed” because there was “no probable cause” for the charge. Eason – the husband of former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans – had a breathalyzer test that showed a blood alcohol level of 0.01%. The legal limit in North Carolina is 0.08%, although a person can still be charged with DWI if they are “significantly impaired.” Apparently, authorities have decided to focus on other charges against Eason.
Eason reportedly posted $ 750 bail to get out of jail on Friday, and that only applied to the “license revoked” charge, which is currently listed as “open” by the county. Open container charges are listed as “unavailable” which may mean it is pending or will be deleted as well.
Eason’s arrest last week came amid another case against him in Pender County, North Carolina. The Pender County case also included a charge of driving with a revoked license, as well as driving with expired tags and / or registration and driving at excessive speeds. Eason is due in court for both cases in February 2022.
It is not known why Eason’s driver’s license was revoked, or for how long. In North Carolina, a license can be revoked for non-payment of tickets and failure to appear in court to contest those tickets. Eason reportedly had a court date for previous traffic offenses on Friday, which could be part of the issue here.
Eason has been arrested several times for DWI since 2012 and has also been arrested for other reasons. So far, neither he nor Evans have commented publicly on the new accusations, although Eason’s Instagram account is set to private. In the meantime, Evans has updated his vlog with a new video on the canceled launch of his clothing line.
