American actor Dwayne Johnson, famous as The Rock, announced on Twitter yesterday, Thursday, his return to play the role of Luke Hobbs in a movie whose name has not yet been determined from the Fast and Furious series, after his departure from the successful series in 2021 after disagreements with the star, Vin Diesel.
“Hobbes is back in the Fast and Furious series,” Johnson said in a video message from Hawaii, wearing a wreath of flowers.
“The next Fast and Furious movie in which you will see the legendary lawman will be Hobbs, which will be an exciting new chapter and a prequel to Fast X: Part Two,” he added.
The series has grossed more than $7 billion at the global box office, making it the fifth-highest-grossing series of all time.
Johnson said he settled differences with Diesel.
“Last summer, Van and I put the past behind us. We will carry forward with brotherhood and resolve, and will always look after the series, characters and fans we love,” he added in his post.
The Moana star explained that he has a “crowd-first mentality” when it comes to his artistic career and sent his love to the entire “Fast” family.
